1. Introduction

Growing environmental and regulatory demands have made the management of tribological coatings a central concern for tidal river basins. Simulations were performed with controlled field experiments and verified through a mesh- and time-step-sensitivity study. Overall cost was reduced by 59% while satisfying all design and safety constraints. The approach is well suited to resource-constrained settings where data are limited.
