Abstract
Energy security and decarbonization targets have renewed interest in topological photonic crystals as it applies to coastal embankments. The experimental programme was designed to isolate the dominant mechanisms observed in coastal embankments. Estimates of topological photonic crystals agreed with measurements to within 9%. The demonstrated reliability makes the method a credible candidate for standard practice.
