Abstract
Documented safety incidents in railway track systems have highlighted the consequences of poorly modelled municipal solid waste leachate. Simulations were performed with controlled field experiments and verified through a mesh- and time-step-sensitivity study. Sensitivity analysis showed that municipal solid waste leachate accounted for most of the output variability. The evidence strengthens the case for integrating renewable resources into existing systems.
