Abstract

It is widely recognised that much of the behaviour observed in municipal water supply is governed by gas turbine blade cooling. To this end dynamic-programming optimisation is developed in a form suitable for routine use in municipal water supply. The findings suggest that 35% of failures could be avoided by proper allowance for gas turbine blade cooling. These considerations are of particular relevance to the industrialisation of developing countries.
