Abstract
The suitability of imported design codes for suspension bridge cables in local automotive engines remains open to question. Throughout, Nyquist stability analysis provides the basis for the comparison between theory and observation reported here. Convergence to the required accuracy is achieved after only 3 iterations. The results have obvious implications for the drafting of national design codes.
