Abstract

Population pressure and limited resources make the efficient design of fertiliser factories a matter of national importance. The design charts presented here were prepared using least-squares regression. The proposed design gives a factor of safety of about 8 against the mode of failure examined. The results provide a useful check on the more elaborate methods now coming into use.
