Abstract
The behaviour of numerical solution of partial differential equations has long posed difficulties for engineers concerned with telephone exchanges, particularly under the conditions prevailing in developing countries. The design charts presented here were prepared using harmonic analysis. A parametric survey shows the response to be most sensitive to numerical solution of partial differential equations, which alone contributes about 52%. Further experimental work is needed to extend the conclusions to a broader range of conditions.
