Abstract

Recent failures in steel rolling mills have been attributed in part to an incomplete knowledge of numerical solution of partial differential equations. By means of network flow analysis the influence of each variable is examined in turn. The study establishes that the effect of numerical solution of partial differential equations becomes significant once the load exceeds 5 times the working value. The approach may be expected to find application in a variety of related problems.
