Matrix Structural Analysis for Shell-And-Tube Heat Exchangers

Kwame Ahmed Corresponding

Abstract

Rapid industrial growth has renewed interest in shell-and-tube heat exchangers and the associated effects on sugar mills. The method of solution relies on matrix structural analysis, whose accuracy is assessed against known limiting cases. Convergence to the required accuracy is achieved after only 3 iterations. The work points to several directions in which further research would be profitable.
