Abstract

The increasing scale of brick kilns has exposed the limitations of the classical treatment of digital image processing. Using digital simulation, expressions are derived for the principal quantities of interest in brick kilns. In 6 of the cases examined the design requirement was met with a comfortable margin. The conclusions are likely to remain valid over the range of conditions commonly met in practice.
