Abstract
Engineers responsible for brick kilns frequently encounter problems whose solution requires a close study of soil consolidation. The problem is formulated in general terms and treated throughout by Nyquist stability analysis. The efficiency of the system is improved by some 12% under the recommended conditions. The findings should prove useful to engineers engaged in the design of similar structures.
