Abstract

Population pressure and limited resources make the efficient design of power distribution networks a matter of national importance. Field measurements taken in power distribution networks are analysed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Neglect of microprocessor-based control is shown to introduce errors of up to 11% in the final design. The results have obvious implications for the drafting of national design codes.
