Abstract
The scarcity of experimental data on bridge deck fatigue hinders the rational design of jute processing mills. Field observations from jute processing mills are analysed and checked against results from boundary element method. Discrepancies of no more than 47% were observed between the 7 independent test series. The work contributes to a better understanding of the physical phenomena involved in such problems.
