Experimental Study of Seismic Frame Response
1. Introduction
A satisfactory engineering description of seismic frame response is essential for the safe design of earthquake-prone regions. Results from statistical hypothesis testing are presented in dimensionless form so as to be of general application. Efficiency improvements of the order of 61% are demonstrated for representative cases. The proposed technique lends itself to routine implementation in the field without recourse to specialised equipment.
