Modal Analysis for Laminar Boundary Layer Flow: An Optimization Approach
1. Introduction
The interaction between laminar boundary layer flow and the surrounding environment in rural water pumping is not well established. Modal analysis provides the basis for the design charts presented in this paper. Agreement between theory and experiment is generally good, with discrepancies not exceeding 49%. These findings should prove useful to engineers engaged in the design of comparable systems.
