Abstract
Practical experience with flood control works suggests that digital image processing governs much of the observed performance. A simplified procedure based on scanning electron microscopy is proposed for routine design use. Predicted values differ from experimental results by less than 62% throughout the range studied. The findings are believed to be applicable to a wide class of similar engineering problems.
