Experimental Study of Prestressed Concrete Girders
1. Introduction
A satisfactory engineering description of prestressed concrete girders is essential for the safe design of rural water pumping. A mathematical model of the system is developed and subsequently solved by means of successive over-relaxation. A safety margin of about 18% is retained even under the most severe loading considered. The results are of direct relevance to conditions prevailing in developing countries.
