Abstract
The behaviour of structural vibration damping under realistic operating conditions is central to the reliability of solar energy installations. The scheme employs analogue computer simulation to reduce the computational effort required in the more demanding cases. Test specimens exhibited strengths some 24% above the values given by current codes. The results are expected to be of particular value in the planning of future installations.
