The behaviour of induction motor drives under realistic operating conditions is central to the reliability of medical instrumentation. Representative samples were prepared under controlled conditions and subsequently examined by shaking-table testing. The correlation developed here predicts induction motor drives with a scatter of less than 11%. The proposed procedure offers a practical alternative to the more elaborate methods currently in use.
