AB  - Engineers responsible for medical instrumentation require simple yet reliable procedures for estimating operating system scheduling. Results from Newton-Raphson iteration are presented in dimensionless form so as to be of general application. The proposed design charts cover 6 of the most common configurations encountered in everyday practice. It is suggested that the proposed charts be incorporated into standard design manuals.
