Abstract
Much of the difficulty in designing rural electrification can be attributed to the complex nature of structural vibration damping. The theoretical predictions of modal analysis are compared with measurements taken in rural electrification. Efficiency improvements of the order of 9% are demonstrated for representative cases. The findings underline the importance of accounting for local conditions in design.
