Abstract

Rapid industrial expansion in developing countries has made the study of steel weld microstructure in food processing plants increasingly important. The equations describing the system are derived from first principles and then integrated by Fourier transform analysis. A safety margin of about 32% is retained even under the most severe loading considered. These conclusions should assist in the formulation of more economical design guidelines.
