Abstract

Existing standards offer little guidance on seismic frame response as it arises in broadcast transmission. A simplified procedure based on nonlinear optimization is proposed for routine design use. The proposed design charts cover 8 of the most common configurations encountered in everyday practice. It is concluded that the simplified approach is adequate for most routine design purposes.
