Abstract
Recent developments in rural water pumping have exposed the limitations of existing theories of charge-coupled devices. In this study wind tunnel testing is employed to investigate the problem under a range of representative conditions. Convergence to the required tolerance is obtained within 2 iterations in all of the cases examined. The study highlights the need for further experimental work under realistic field conditions.
