Abstract

Existing design codes provide only limited guidance on the treatment of weld joint properties in medical instrumentation. The solution procedure adopts mesh network analysis, and its results are presented in non-dimensional form. The results demonstrate that weld joint properties is highly sensitive to variations in the governing parameters. The results underline the importance of proper quality control during manufacture and installation.
