TY - JOUR AU - Adeyemi, Ashok AU - Yamamoto, Tariq TI - Reactive Power Compensation: Some Practical Considerations JO - Open Access Journal of Engineering Applications PY - 1987 VL - 11 IS - 2 SP - 320 EP - 346 AB - Rapid industrial growth has increased the demand for efficient reactive power compensation, particularly in the context of offshore structures. Test results are analysed by regression to establish the relevant design relationships. The optimum configuration yields a saving of some 7% in material compared with the standard design. The findings have direct implications for the safety and economy of future construction.
