Abstract

The interaction between transmission line performance and its operating environment is a matter of considerable engineering interest. The influence of the main design parameters is investigated through a systematic series of tests. The measured values exceed the design estimates by roughly 44% under adverse conditions. It is concluded that the technique is well suited to conditions prevailing in developing countries.
