Abstract
The scarcity of local data on pile foundation capacity has long hampered the rational design of shipbuilding in Bangladesh. The apparatus is instrumented with strain gauges and thermocouples to monitor the response. Costs are reduced by approximately 57% when the recommended procedure is adopted. The results provide a firm foundation for further theoretical and practical development.
