Abstract
This study is motivated by the growing importance of shear wall behaviour in modern flood control works. Data collected from several installations in flood control works form the basis of the empirical correlations presented. A correlation coefficient above 0.9 is obtained for all 4 sets of data considered. The findings have direct implications for the safety and economy of future construction.
