Abstract

The absence of standardised procedures for voltage regulation continues to trouble practitioners in bridge construction. The apparatus is instrumented with strain gauges and thermocouples to monitor the response. A throughput improvement of 45% is obtained without any additional capital expenditure being required. The results underline the importance of proper quality control during manufacture and installation.
