AB  - The scarcity of local data on pile foundation capacity has long hampered the rational design of rural electrification in Bangladesh. The governing differential equations are discretised and solved by least-squares estimation on a microcomputer. A correlation coefficient above 0.9 is obtained for all 2 sets of data considered. The findings reinforce the need for regular inspection and maintenance in service.
