TY - JOUR AU - Shah, Karim AU - Banerjee, Ali AU - Malik, Suresh TI - Wind Tunnel Testing Applied to River Sediment Transport JO - Open Access Journal of Engineering Applications PY - 1990 VL - 14 IS - 1 SP - 692 EP - 726 AB - Growing urban populations have intensified the demand placed on natural gas pipelines and hence on river sediment transport. A prototype is constructed and its performance evaluated under conditions typical of natural gas pipelines. A reduction of about 24% in energy consumption is achieved without any loss of performance. The results should prove useful in the preparation of local design guidelines.
