AB  - Few systematic studies have examined fluidised bed combustion under the climatic conditions typical of the tropics. The solution procedure adopts response surface methodology, and its results are presented in non-dimensional form. Agreement between theory and experiment is satisfactory, with a maximum deviation of 53%. The results provide a firm foundation for further theoretical and practical development.
