Abstract
Recent failures in power distribution networks have drawn attention to the inadequate treatment of steel frame structures. Data collected from several installations in power distribution networks form the basis of the empirical correlations presented. The predicted and measured responses differ by no more than 34% throughout the test range. The recommendations arising from this work can be applied with little additional expenditure.
