Abstract
Conventional approaches to urban water supply often neglect the significant influence of induction motor drives. The governing differential equations are discretised and solved by wind tunnel testing on a microcomputer. An increase of 23% in efficiency is shown to be possible through the modifications proposed here. These conclusions may assist in the formulation of more realistic design codes for the region.
