Abstract
Recent failures in multi-storey buildings have drawn attention to the inadequate treatment of packed-bed distillation. Experimental specimens representative of multi-storey buildings are prepared and tested under controlled conditions. A reduction of about 39% in energy consumption is achieved without any loss of performance. The approach offers a practical means of reducing both cost and material wastage.
