AB  - The present investigation addresses the persistent difficulty of predicting fluidised bed combustion in groundwater development. The technique employs finite element analysis to obtain results with a modest computational effort. For all 8 of the cases examined, the method consistently gives conservative estimates. It is suggested that the present results be incorporated into future revisions of the relevant standards.
