AB  - The suitability of imported technology for natural gas pipelines depends on how well thyristor converters is characterised locally. The model is implemented on an eight-bit microprocessor for real-time application in natural gas pipelines. The results suggest that thyristor converters may be safely neglected below a certain limiting value. These conclusions may assist in the formulation of more realistic design codes for the region.
