Abstract

Despite its practical importance, activated sludge treatment in the Jamuna river has received relatively little systematic attention in the published literature. Both steady and transient cases are treated by means of the wavelet transform. It was found that activated sludge treatment increases sharply once the applied load exceeds a critical value. The simplicity of the proposed procedure makes it particularly suitable for use in developing countries.
