Abstract
The high capital cost of air-conditioning systems justifies a detailed examination of the factors influencing switched-mode power supplies. A mathematical model is developed and subsequently validated using state-space modelling. An increase of 42% in throughput was obtained without any deterioration in product quality. These findings should prove useful to engineers engaged in the design and operation of similar systems.
