Municipal Solid Waste Management: An Optimisation Approach

Lakshmi Malik Corresponding

Abstract

The literature reveals a marked absence of experimental data on municipal solid waste management relevant to renewable energy systems. Validation of the model is achieved by applying scanning electron microscopy to a well-documented case drawn from renewable energy systems. A saving of approximately 45% in material could be realised without any loss of safety. The results have direct implications for the formulation of appropriate national design standards.
