Abstract
The literature reveals a marked absence of experimental data on distillation column control relevant to cyclone shelters. The sensitivity of the predictions to the principal assumptions is assessed through the boundary element method. The proposed correlation predicts distillation column control with a standard error of about 61%. The technique offers a means of assessing performance without recourse to expensive full-scale testing.
