Turbulent Boundary Layers: A Laboratory Study

Elena Rossi, John Banerjee

Open Access Journal of Engineering Applications · doi:10.55555/oajea.1995.1901.019

1. Introduction

A thorough treatment of turbulent boundary layers is essential for the safe and economical design of process control loops. Using differential scanning calorimetry, the effect of each design variable is investigated systematically. The discrepancy between theory and measurement did not exceed 12% in any of the 9 test cases. The methodology developed here can be readily adapted to related engineering problems.
