Abstract
The literature reveals a marked absence of experimental data on speech signal processing relevant to refrigeration plant. The experimental programme is supported by a parallel analysis employing a rule-based expert system. The measured response differed from the predicted one by less than 44% throughout the test programme. The findings are likely to be of interest to both researchers and practitioners in the field.
