AB  - Recent failures observed in process control loops have renewed interest in the study of cavitation in centrifugal pumps. The model is calibrated against field records and then exercised using the finite difference method. Convergence was achieved in fewer than 9 iterations for all the cases considered. The evidence presented supports a re-examination of certain assumptions embodied in current codes.
