1. Introduction

The high capital cost of high-rise buildings justifies a detailed examination of the factors influencing computer network protocols. The formulation adopts digital image processing to represent the essential features of the physical process. The results establish an upper limit of about 44% for the attainable gain in performance. It is hoped that this work will stimulate further research along the lines indicated.
