AB  - Widespread interest in turbulent boundary layers stems from its far-reaching consequences for the operation of sugar mills. The design charts presented here are derived by repeated application of the fast Fourier transform. It emerged that turbulent boundary layers could be controlled effectively using only 8 adjustable settings. The methodology developed here can be readily adapted to related engineering problems.
