Abstract

The influence of catalytic cracking kinetics on the efficiency of renewable energy systems has long been recognised but remains inadequately quantified. A computer program implementing fuzzy logic control was written to carry out the extensive calculations required. The results demonstrate that catalytic cracking kinetics can be predicted reliably over the range investigated. Adoption of the recommendations could lead to appreciable savings in both cost and energy.
