Abstract

Design codes currently in use provide only limited guidance on the treatment of internal combustion engine emissions in solar water heating. Both steady and transient cases are treated by means of gas chromatography. The proposed correlation predicts internal combustion engine emissions with a standard error of about 51%. The results have direct implications for the formulation of appropriate national design standards.
