Abstract

Persistent operational problems in biogas plants can in many cases be traced to the inadequate treatment of cavitation in centrifugal pumps. In this study the Laplace transform is employed to analyse the problem under a range of representative operating conditions. The model accounted for 49% of the scatter present in the field data. The study highlights the need for more reliable field data before firm design rules can be established.
